DPF Cleaning (in-situ)

Is your DPF clogged up?

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) cleaning is a crucial aspect of car servicing, particularly for diesel vehicles. Over time, soot and carbon build-up can clog the DPF, leading to reduced engine performance and increased emissions.

Are you experiencing:

  • Engine management light illuminated?
  • Reduced power?

How well does it work?

This all depends on the cause of the blockage. If you DPF is blocked as a result of poor driving habits I have seen very high success rates, around 90%, in clearing accumulated Particulate Matter. If you have suffered Turbo issues and the DPF is contaminated with oil, depending on how quick you get to it, it's typically about 50% success rate. This is because oil contaminated DPS can harden.

Is it worth it?

DPFs are very expensive and in many vehicles quite labour intensive. Add to the cost of replacement the risk of temperature sensors being seized or snapping and that additional expense - it is often worth the money to try to unlock or preserve your DPFs lifespan.

How long does it take?

Can be done in a couple of hours. But for more severely blocked DPFs we recommend leaving it with us to allow the chemicals to soak in for longer and increase the chances of success.
